SEC probes whether companies nudged earnings per share higher, report says

The Security and Exchange Commission reportedly is investigating whether companies rounded up their quarterly earnings per share to make financial results look better. The probe comes after a study found possible evidence of the phenomenon dubbed quadrophobia.
